Class Policies & Registration
- A warm and supportive environment is important. All backgrounds, genders, ages (14+), body types and sizes are welcome in class. Respect for your fellow students' personal journey is expected.
- New students please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to class time to fill out registration form. All students are required to sign a liability waiver upon starting classes with Ankara Rose. The form can be downloaded HERE and filled out ahead of time if you wish.
- Classes start promptly. Please arrive a few minutes early to allow time to get situated and sign in. We always warm up properly at the start of class which is important to ready the body for movement and focus the mind. If you are running late it is your responsibility to warm up out in the lobby before joining the technique portion of the class.
- Please dress comfortably, preferably in non-baggy clothes. The instructor will need to see your body to make proper corrections and prevent injury. Yoga or workout wear is best.
Note about footwear: Any dance shoe (Irish or Highland ghillies, ballet or jazz slippers, dance sneakers, etc), or bare feet (socks can often be too slippery for the Celtic dance portions, but can be worn during the warmup). Please NO street shoes on the dance floor! Many Celtic adult dance students have loved dance sneakers for support and extra cushioning during the Irish Step and Highland technique part of classes. My favorite brands in these are Bloch and Capezio. A clean sneaker (such as one used exclusively indoors for a workout class) could work as well, but cannot be ones used outside at all as to preserve the dance flooring.
Also, please always bring a water bottle!
- Classes are Non-Refundable (only exception is if instructor has to cancel - due to inclement weather, emergency, illness, etc - in that case, session will be extended by one week to makeup). In the event of personal schedule changes before the start of session, enrollment can be deferred to the next session, or to another individual.
This class does allow drop ins, so if you foresee a major schedule conflict during a scheduled session, you can always choose to attend on a drop-in basis for that period of time.
- Credit cards accepted securely online through PayPal. Otherwise & Drop ins are Cash or Check.
- There must be a minimum of 3 students registered for classes to proceed. A refund of the full amount paid will be given if class does not reach minimum.
- Due to space limitations and for the comfort level of your fellow students (and optimal learning experience for everyone) - please NO OBSERVERS allowed. There is a lobby area outside the dance room with seats for family members and friends to wait (or have them join in! ;0)
