Spirited Steps - A Skirt + Basket Dance Workshop
Wednesday, August 28, 2024* *rescheduled from 8/21/24 7:00 - 9:00 pm Rise Up Center 30 Howard Street, Wilton NH (Riverview Mill Buildings - #30) $49 Level: Beginner and up. Some prior belly dance experience required (beginners welcome! Must have taken at least one class session in the past). Unleash your inner dancer, elevate your dance skills, and bring out your vibrant spirit! Join us for an unforgettable experience where you'll delve into the world of skirt and basket dancing. In the first half, we will work on fun, fiery, and energetic skirt movements and technique. You will also be introduced to the art of balancing and dancing with a basket for an earthy, community dance feel. Then we’ll bring it all together in a lively and fun choreography! Dance alongside your fellow dancers in an upbeat environment, creating a dynamic routine that encompasses what you’ve learned so far. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or a spirited beginner, embrace the energy, feel the beat, and let your steps tell the story. Please bring a flat basket that can balance on your head, and a dance skirt if you have one (25-yard dance skirts are great, but also any full skirt that you can extend your arms straight out to the sides can work)! A limited amount will be available to borrow - please let us know as soon as possible if you'd like to borrow one, and we will reserve one for you! Workshop SPOTS ARE LIMITED so be sure to register ASAP to reserve your spot! |

- Registration is online, OR in person (space permitting!). DROP INS ARE allowed - though as it's space permitting be sure to check if there's still space first. Your space in the workshop is not reserved until payment is received.
- Please bring a water bottle (or two)!
- A warm and supportive environment is important. All backgrounds, ages (14+), body types and sizes are welcome in class. Respect for your fellow students' personal journey is expected.
- Workshop fee is Non-Refundable (however, it can be transferred to another individual with prior notice). Please understand your registration is reserving your spot that could've gone to someone else.
- There must be a minimum of 4 students pre-registered in advance (by 7/31) for workshop to proceed. A refund of the full amount paid will be given if class does not reach minimum.
- Due to the comfort level of your fellow students (and optimal learning experience for everyone) - please NO OUTSIDE OBSERVERS allowed. (There is a waiting area inside they can feel free to sit while they wait for you. The dance studio room is for participating dancers only).
