I’m happy to announce that I’m BAAACK! I took a much-needed dance hiatus after the birth of my son this past June, and now I am so happy to be back to dancing, teaching and performing full swing again. I have so much in store coming up that I’m excited to share with you! |
For those interested, I’m attaching a video link of an improvisational violin taqsim performance I did while about 6 months pregnant (accompanied by Corey Walden on the violin). Belly dance is the most wonderful dance for every stage of life, I just can’t put into words how beneficial it is for the body, soul and mind. I’m thrilled that doctors are now recognizing this as well, and are recommending it (along with yoga) to their patients. I attribute its many benefits (such as intricate abdominal & pelvic floor strengthening) to both my smooth birth experience and super-fast recovery afterwards (though I must add that every individual's body and experience is different). I wasn’t sure I wanted to share this video originally, as I had a rough go energy-wise, and well, was just feeling BLAH throughout – but now after the fact, I am glad I was able to have that experience captured to look back on and had those moments to turn inward and just enjoy the feeling of dancing with my baby. I hope by sharing I can motivate some of you to come try it out no matter what shape, age, size, fitness level, stage of life you’re at. I hope you are able to experience the joy of movement, the beautiful music, and the many benefits that come with this dance -check you’re your local area to find an instructor and treat yourself to a class to try it out!

I’ve had many of you ask when the Celtic BellyFusion master classes and workshops will be back. It didn’t work out for this March, but once I get the Bellydance classes rolling I’ll be bringing the ongoing NH master classes back for sure and have a lot of new exciting plans in that direction! I’m hoping for June. As for workshops, I’m currently booking for 2014-15 and more dates will be listed once confirmed. As always, I’m also still available for private lessons (in case you can’t wait till June! ;0)
I want to thank you all who have supported me, both past and present, and for your patience through this transitional period in my life. Much love to you all, and hope to see you in class (or at a performance!)
Shimmies & ShamRaqs,
Ankara Rose
