Sunday 11/27 - Intro to Celtic Fusion Belly Dance - 10:30 am - 12 Noon
In this Introductory workshop, dancers will be introduced to Ankara Rose’s signature dance style Celtic Fusion Belly Dance - the combination of Irish step, Scottish Highland, and Middle Eastern music & dancing. We will start with basic beginner technique & history in Irish Step dance, Scottish Highland, and Oriental (Belly) dancing. With respect for each individual dance form’s history and unique beauty, we will then apply these techniques into short combinations to practice dancing in what is Celtic Fusion Bellydance. Come prepared to learn something new and have a blast!
*This workshop is an Intro level workshop. Perfect for brand new beginners to the fusion style. This is where everyone starts, regardless of experience in either of the three dance forms. No prior dance experience necessary -and two left feet ok! - open to teens and adults (14+), all dance levels, genders, and levels of fitness. Lower impact variations of moves are offered for those worried about the high intensity of the Celtic dance forms.

Celtic Fusion Choreography - 1:00 - 3:00 pm
Now we put together what we learned in the Intro Workshop in a fun, fast, energetic choreography! This will be the Celtic Fusion audition choreography (if you are auditioning for the world dance company on 12/11. There will not be video for the choreography, so workshop attendance is required if auditioning). This choreography is open to all who attended an Intro workshop in the past (or earlier that day), however, will be set to a faster, more challenging pace with more challenging technique, so prior dance experience is suggested.
Sunday 12/11 - OPEN AUDITIONS - 10:30 am - 12 Noon
Auditions for the world dance company. Male & Female, ages 18+ welcomed to audition. Dancers will perform the audition choreography (from 11/27) in small groups, followed by time for solo pieces. This will be a professional dance company specializing in a variety of world dance forms, most notably Celtic Fusion Belly Dance. Dancers should be proficient in at least one of the following dance forms:
Belly Dance (Oriental Styles, ATS, Tribal Fusion - All styles welcome)
Irish Step Dance
Scottish Highland
Folkloric (Middle Eastern, Balkan, Russian, Spanish)
Ballet, Contemporary, Modern
Flamenco
